Briar Lee Rickman - 3 months old already!!

Briar is my cousin's son, and I can't believe that he is already 3 months old!!!!  Insane.  He is cute as a button, and I really had a great time hanging out with him and his mom, Amy.  He is smiling now, though we didn't catch him at a super smiley time.  I got a few in there though!!!  He is just a sweetheart, and I can't wait to see him as he changes even more!!  Check out his first pics here!

Enjoy!!
I think this should be his driver's license pic!!!
We totally wore him out!!!!

Photo Tip of the Day!!

Get on their level

Most kids are smaller than you.  You should get down to their eye level.   It is often easier to interact with them at their level...which leads to better pics!!  ;-)

August 2010

My husband Paul and I decided to drive over to the Natchez Trace.  It is a famous road that actually goes from Natchez, Mississippi to Nashville.  We had a good time, but it definitely wasn't what I was expecting.  We hit a couple of waterfalls that were cool, then went to this hilarious little cafe in a teeny-tiny town called Williamsport.

Later that day we were chillin' with the dog, so of course I had to add a few pics of her too!!  ;-)

Revolution Dance Studio

In the middle of June I had the privilege to head to the Chicagoland area and photograph a dance studio.  Revolution Dance Studio is located in Plainfield, IL, and it's awesome!!  My friend Shelley started with a friend of hers.  This is becoming a tradition, and I really enjoy it.  It makes for a few LONG days and a LOT of editing when I get home...but it's so fun!!!

This is not near ALL of the dancers that were photographed.  I had a hard time choosing a few to go on my blog...I'll try to do another blog at a later date to highlight some of the other dancers!!

Goeke Shindig Pt. 2

From the inquest, we moved on to the back deck. It was now time for a testing of the skills...see who out of this competitive bunch would win the title. I'm not sure what title it was, but they all fought for it long and hard.

I don't remember the exact rules, but it had something to do with saltines, a time limit for eating them, and nothing to drink.

From there...on to the Cuervo!! ;-)

p.s. I can't wait for Mexico!!!

Goeke Shindig

Wow!! Where to start with this crowd??? Let's start with Nick and Lindsey. They are getting married!!!! I actually get to photograph their wedding...in Mexico (the country!)...next Spring...how FUN is that?!?! ;-)

Nick is a Davids. Nick's Mom and Dad were best friends with my mom in high school. We hung out with the Davids quite a few times growing up! Though, you'd think we were neighbors...when we get together with them it's as though we've never been apart...i think we are somehow long lost cousins. ;-) Nick's mom is a Goeke...and that is one big awesome family!! They have an absolute blast whenever they are all able to get together. On a few occasions, I've been able to attend some of their family parties. I said it before, but I'll say it again, they are awesome.

Well, anyhoo, the Goeke's have a family tradition. They basically hold an inquest for the newest fiance in the family. It was HILARIOUS. I'm glad it isn't a Sutherland family tradition, but it was awesome to experience. ;-) And...Lindsey passed with flying colors and unanimous thumbs up!!
