Lissa and I attended the same church growing up. It's been YEARS since I've seen her in person!!

She is now married to Alan. Alan serves our country in the US Army. We were able to get some family photos in before he was deployed again. I was so very thrilled to be able to photograph their family this summer!!! It was the first time I've met their kids...which is quite embarrassing...since their oldest is a teenager! They were a blast!!! I had such a good time hanging out at Rand Park with the whole family!

Best of luck to you Alan, while you are gone!! I'll be thinking of and praying for you and your family!!

First of all, HAPPY BIRTHDAY BEN!!! I didn't actually plan this intentionally, but it worked out pretty perfectly. I hope you have a wonderful day with your girls!!

Secondly, Congratulations to all of you!! As of Monday, August 9, Kya Lynlee, is OFFICIALLY an Ellefritz. I'm so, so very thrilled for you guys.

Ben and I go way back!! He has been one of my best friends since I was about 15. He has married the most amazing woman in the whole wide world. Jessica can put up with Ben's relentless sophomoric humor...she even loves him because of it!! He couldn't have married a more perfect woman.

Ben and Jes adopted their first child, Mia Riley, in October of 2008. Kya arrived to their family January of this year. Both girls are so very precious. This photo shoot was the first time I got to meet Kya and I already can't WAIT to see her again. And Mia is talking now...and of course Ben has her repeating obnoxious, though hilarious things. I just wish they didn't live so far away!

Grothaus'

Alisha Nagel is another friend of mine from high school. Well, actually, if I'm honest she was more of a friend of my brother's. They were in the same class and we all went to the same church growing up. To be honest, I haven't seen Alisha for AGES!! She looks as awesome as she ever did, though...and she's got 3 gorgeous children!! ;-)

Gracie, Gunner, and Gavin were SO much fun!! They are funny, curious, adventurous...just what 2, 3, and 4 year olds should be!! lol

Quesenberry's

Jenny Quesenberry was a friend of mine in high school...though I knew her as Jenny Dixon!! ;-) While on my "midwest tour" I got to meet her husband, Calvin, and their beautiful daughter, Maddie. I had a great time shooting their family in Carthage, IL. Calvin is definitely one of the funniest dads I've photographed in awhile. He has a VERY dry sense of humor...it took me awhile to catch on to it...but once I did, I figured if he could dish it, he could take it!! ;-) We had a great time!!
