Mr & Mrs Senders

My posting has been sporadic at best lately...I'm working on fixing that, pinky promise!  Now...onto much more important things:  Mr. and Mrs. Senders.

Joel and Jen are awesome!!!  I've known Jen for several years from shooting the students of the dance studio that she taught at.  Their wedding day was perfect...hot, but perfect.  I had a blast, and so did everyone else who attended.  The wedding party was awesome and hilarious as well...as I'm sure you will able to ascertain from the pics.

Ann, Miguel, y Lobo

This blog post is gonna be a little different than my other posts...it's actually one of the sadder posts, I've written...but we'll start with the happy part.

I had a friend from college, Ann Milauskas.  This girl is pretty amazing.  She was one of the sweetest people from my ol' WIU days.  She is also one of the most incredible women I know.  She spent 4 years ministering in Yemen.  While in Yemen, she met Miguel Bermudez.  He was also in Yemen as a missionary.  In a nutshell and the fairytale fashion, they met, fell in love, and got married just 6 months ago.

About a month or two ago, they moved to Nashville.  (which I'm THRILLED about, btw!!)  They stayed at my house for a couple of days while they figured out their living situation.  I got to watch their dog, Lobo, while they were checking out their apartment.  Lobo is 12 and Miguel has had him since he was a very small puppy.  He was moving pretty slow while I got to watch him, but he was such a sweetheart.

Ann called me and wanted to surprise Miguel with family pics for his bday.  So, I went and took pics of the two of them and Lobo.  Lobo was a totally different dog from when they first arrived in Nashville...he was almost like a puppy.  He was such a rambuntious dog...it was awesome!!

Now for the sad part.  I saw Ann a week ago and she shared with me that Lobo had died.  I couldn't believe it.  I'm so happy that I was able to take pics of Ann, Miguel, and Lobo before that happened.  I hope that Miguel and Ann are able to enjoy the pics as much as I have.

Change Your Perspective...

Most photos are taken with the camera being about eye level with the subject.  Change it up and see what you can come up with!!

South Park, CO

Colorado is one of the most beautiful places in our fair country, I think.  My folks live in South Park, CO, and it is an indescribable kind of place.  I just got to spend a week out there and it was wonderful.  I was lucky enough that my trip landed on the peak color weekend.  It was awesome!!  Enjoy the aspens at 10,000 feet of elevation!!  ;-)

Shoot Quickly!!

If you are like me, you are often trying to shoot a subject that may move, stop smiling or just get tired of waiting on you.  So start shooting quickly so you don't lose the moment.

Practice getting quicker and quicker on the draw.

At this point, don't worry about taking too many pictures - you can always delete them later!!  ;-)

As the motto of one of BetterPhoto old t-shirts states, "Shoot First, Ask Questions Later."

Move in closer!!

Take a few steps to get even closer to your child or pet or loved one!  Or, if you've got zoom capability, zoom in until they fill the viewfinder.  Background distractions will be obscured and you will be able to show off your little one (or big one!!) even better.
