Jen and Rick Barker

Jen and Rick got married this summer at Suncrest Christian Church in Crown Point, IN.

Jen made me think of a beautiful Disney Bride!!! And Rick was a smitten groom if I ever saw one. They are both so very sweet.

I love how close they both are to their families. Jen e-mailed me prior to the wedding day to fill me in on a little secret they were keeping from their parents. Jen and Rick planned a long dipping kiss at the end of their ceremony. I think it was safe to say they surprised their families and everyone else in attendance!! ;-)

This particular wedding ceremony was a little more special to me, personally than most others. An old friend from church camp was the officiating family. It was wonderful to see him and his family. Greg had such wonderful insights and things to say to and about Jen and Rick. After listening to him remark on their relationship, I was even more confident in and excited for their marriage!

Congratulations, Jen and Rick!!

Jeff & Emily

Hi! Katie here. It's been awhile, and for that I apologize. I have been editing photographs like a maniac, so despite...or maybe because...of my long absence in the blogging world, I know have lots to update you on. So keep watching for the latest in katiejames photography!

Jeff and Emily got married this summer in Keokuk, Iowa. It seemed to me like it was one of the hottest days on record!! ;-) In order that no one wilted, the shots that we took outside were quick and (hopefully!!) relatively painless.

Jeff and Emily are such a fun couple!! In fact, I'd forgotten what a blast I had shooting their big day until I began to go back through the photos and begin editing. They had a ball on their wedding day, and so did everyone that was a part of their wedding day. Their wedding party kept me laughing all day long. One of the most photogenic couples I've ever had the opportunity to shoot...they both have great smiles, and were quick to share them. It was a pleasure and an honor to be a part of their big day.

Weible DeGraff Wedding

Jeff and Tanya...what can I say about Jeff and Tanya? Tanya is one of my dearest friends in Chicago. We went to college together a while ago (we won't talk about how long ago that was, will we, T??), we worked to together for about 5 years at CCC, we were even roommates at one point!

Jeff and Tanya have been really good friends as long as Tanya has been living in the Chicagoland area. A lot of Tanya's friends have been telling her for years that she needed to start dating Jeff. I found out at the rehearsal dinner that a lot of people were telling Jeff the same thing! :-) It's all in the timing. They finally realized what most of us had known for years, that they were perfect together.

Their wedding was such a joyous time. Tanya was a truly radiant bride, and Jeff was the epitome of the dashing groom. One of the things that I love about watching Jeff and Tanya together is that you can SEE the love between them. As you observe Jeff's treatment of Tanya, you know without a shadow of a doubt that he treasures her...and that is just what she deserves! I can only hope that I captured a piece of that!

Reist-Zak Wedding

Kurt and Laurel...what a fun couple and a gorgeous wedding. Laurel is a designer and this became more and more apparent to me as I saw, a) how organized the day was, and b) how perfect everything was. They got married at Independence Grove, a forest preserve in central Lake County, IL. It was a stunning location.
I had a ball working with Kurt and Laurel. They were both great sports and very patient with me as we shot their entire day outside...on one of the hottest days this summer in Chicago. Kurt and his groomsmen were awesome wearing their black tuxes on such a hot day!!

We had an awesome sunset:
